Are You Out of Your Mind?
Many have written and spoken about the "out of body" experience. Its parallel in the intellectual realm is to achieve a certain detachment, stand aside, and observe one's own thought processes at work. This can be a bit frightening because the experience is like looking into an array of mirrors where you see your image reflected so many times that it appears to vanish into infinity. It is easy to become disoriented and lose your way. Perhaps this is why genius and insanity are identical twins.
I have never had an out of body experience, but I have been out of my mind a number of times.
And those who were seen dancing were thought to be INSANE by those who could not hear the music.
Friedrich Nietzsche
