A Predilection For Puns
William's theory is that punning results from defective chromosomes. His father suffered from chronic punning throughout his adult life, just as he has. It is hard to assess precisely which components of punning result from genetic defects as opposed to environmental influences; qualified scientists must solve the ever-controversial questions of nature vs. nurture. One remains confident, however, that further research will show that an anomaly in the DNA code predisposes certain members of the human race to punning. Should this happen, it will be a cryogenetic shame.
