Fallujah Liberated?

Fallujah - prisoner

On November 14, 2004, General John Sattler, Commander 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, proclaimed, "We have liberated the city of Fallujah." He went on to crow that we had "Broken the back" of the resistance in Iraq. Well, General, your Marines are still dying shooting it out with insurgents in Fallujah, Anbar Province, and lots of other Iraq hot spots. The number of attacks per day and the growing sophistication of enemy weaponry by no means indicate a resistance with a broken back. Maybe they have some mild sciatic pain.

We have grown accustomed to a constant stream of BS and disinformation from the White House and the Pentagon about the war (there is precious little they have been right about), but we did expect better from a commander on the ground with stars on his collar.

Fallujah - hospital destroyed Fallujah - Mosque destroyed

William's Whimsical Words:

I always thought the Marines were fighters rather than political apologists mouthing White House nonsense claims.
