What a Day

On this day in history we can mark the beginning of an important settlement in what is now our country, the birth of the brutal dictator who murdered millions of his own and was the architect of the Cold War, the disintegration and collapse of the Soviet Union that brought an end to the Cold War, and the emergence of the terrorist threat that now preoccupies our nation and most of the rest of the world. Oh, by the way, this is also the shortest day of the year and the beginning of Winter. At least it isn't a nuclear winter. radiation square rotates Enough! alert level dropping
