Sack Him!
Sen. Norm Coleman

It is ironic that Republican Senator Norm Coleman recently called for the resignation of UN Secretary General Kofi Annan on the grounds that he was at the helm when there was alleged gross mismanagement of Iraq's UN supervised Oil for Food Program. The investigation of the program is due out shortly, but the Senator's blood lust is up, and, taking a page from the head of his party, he does not want to wait for the facts. Strange, one doesn't remember the right honorable Senator calling for the resignation of President Bush after the 9-11 debacle. Surely there is no doubt that George W. was at the helm of the USA when that deadly attack took place. The events leading up to 9-11 have been extensively investigated and reported on by a bi-partisan commission. The report reveals gross mismanagement of the defense of the country by the Bush national security team prior to 9-11, and an appalling failure to deal with the known deficiencies since. Do you smell a double standard here?

Politics:
A strife of interests masquerading as a contest of principles.
The conduct of public affairs for private advantage.
