: Prolonged or uncontrolled laughter may have serious side-effects. Among these are: Shortness of breath, tearing of the eyes, flushed face, wheezing, and muscle spasm. If you experience any of these symptoms, discontinue laughing at the earliest opportunity, go to the nearest television set, turn on any cable news channel, and call me in the morning.
