Do The Numbers
During the 2004 presidential campaign, John Kerry was vilified by the Vice President and other Republican attack dogs when he told the American people that the war in Iraq was costing the taxpayers $200 Billion. He was wrong, of course. Counting the $80 Billion supplemental that the President just asked Congress for this week, the so called "War On Terror" will cost us over $300 Billion. The vast majority of those funds will have been poured into the bottomless pit that is the Iraq Invasion and Occupation, with no end in sight. More significantly, the stream of body bags and maimed youth coming home to the USA grows with each passing month.
Is William the only one who believes that every nation and every people should earn their freedom with their own blood and their own treasure? That isn't the messianic view that the President put forward (and then recanted) in his second inaugural address, but don't all you born again folks believe that the Messiah already came several millennia ago? Wasn't his message about peace and love?
William's Whimsical Words:
Being right is apparently not as important as being Right.
